Bibsy Bear was a curious bear, as all little cubs could be. The world was a new and exciting place and Bibsy wanted to explore everything in it! Bibsy’s mom was always careful to keep a watchful eye on the precocious cub, but that never seemed to stop Bibsy from getting messy.
When it came time for lunch, all Bibsy wanted to eat was a peanut butter and honey sandwich. The sandwiches were salty and sweet and best of all… STICKY!!! Mama Bear was awfully tired of washing and combing Bibsy’s fur after each meal. She tried bibs, but those just moved around and somehow ended up sticking to Bibsy’s fur with the aid of all that honey. She then tried napkins, but they weren’t big enough and never stayed put. She even tried a smock! Bibsy always hated putting that smock on. It was itchy and hot!
Finally, on Bibsy first birthday Mrs. Bear discovered Hug-A-Bib
baby bibs! Bibsy’s grandmother bought a couple for Bibsy’s birthday since she knew how hard it was to keep her little grandbear clean. Later that afternoon Mama, Grandma and Bibsy went to the lake to have a picnic. It was a nice summer day and the sky was blue with those puffy white clouds that were perfect for making animals and shapes.
Bibsy didn’t know what to do first. The water was so cool and refreshing, but then there were so many trees just waiting to be climbed! Mama said to eat first, then play. Oh, jeez!
Mama spread her red tablecloth on the picnic table in the gazebo in the shade of a big maple tree. Bibsy was so hungry his tummy rumbled! Mama put the Hug-a-Bib
stay-put bib on Bibsy, making sure it was fastened around his waist. She then laid out their feast: carrot sticks, apples, and peanut butter-and-honey sandwiches! Bibsy was so distracted during lunch by all the clouds and butterflies and fish jumping in the lake that Mama was certain she would have another long clean-up of Bibsy’s fur ahead of her.
Bibsy finished eating and before she knew it had run off and climbed up a tree. With the Hug-A-Bib on! It didn’t move. Better yet, Bibsy wasn’t trying to take it off. The Hug-A-Bib wasn’t bothering him one bit!!
Bibsy found a field of wildflowers and gathered a huge bouquet for his Mama and Grandma. They were so proud of his thoughtfulness!
Once Bibsy started settling down for a nap, Mama was surprised to see that the Hug-a-Bib had stayed in place, even with all the squirming at lunch and all the climbing and running and playing after lunch. As she took off the bib, she also noticed that Bibsy’s fur was clean! The Hug-a-Bib worked! Mama and Bibsy were so excited that they told all their friends about this incredible find!
You can have your very own Bibsy Bear with
a Hug-a-Bib for your little one.
